My theory is that the perpetrator is watching who parks and whether you place anything in the trunk or under a seat before leaving and they are very quickly able to break in. They might be working with another person who is the lookout. However, they left their screwdriver in my car so it might take a while before they get a new one which could slow them down for a few days. My windows were not broken so it's unclear how they got in because I was fairly sure I locked up as I always do. Live and learn, don't leave anything in your car that you care about, treat your purse as if it were a baby or a cute little kitten or puppy.
