More Car-Related Crime Reported in South Green Lake
We’ve been alerted to a few more incidents of car break-ins in the neighborhood South of Green Lake. Add these to the two we’ve reported on so far, and this last week is looking pretty grim:
- Morning of Friday, August 28 – A car window is smashed near the Green Lake Small Craft Center. A purse is stolen.
- Between Sunday August 30 and Tuesday, September 1 – A car is broken into on Wallingford Ave N, just north of N 50th St. A Garmin GPS unit and sunglasses are stolen.
- Night of Tuesday, September 1 – A car window is smashed on the 400 block of NE 60th St. A backpack is stolen.
- Night of Wednesday, September 2 – A 5′8″-ish man in a lime green shirt attempts to steal a car parked on Ashworth Ave N between N 41st St and N 42nd St. The man walks away when the car’s alarm goes off. (via the GreenLakeMoms yahoo group)
- Night of Wednesday, September 2 – A car window is broken near Woodlawn Ave N and N 53rd St. An attempt is made to steal the car, but the car’s battery is dead. (via the GreenLakeMoms yahoo group)
and, likely unrelated, but still scary:
- Night of Wednesday, September 2 – A piece of scotch tape is placed across the latch of a front gate in North Green Lake, as though someone is checking to see if the residents are out-of-town. (via the GreenLakeMoms yahoo group)
