We have arranged for Jessica Dally to come to the Greenwood Senior Center to teach our Greenwood/Ballard Coolmom’s, their Friends, Family and Neighbors how to can and preserve food in a safe manner. Our Goals is to bring those interested in home canning and food preserving together, to add value, unite against climate change and do small sustainable projects together. Jessica is a Master Canner/Food Preserver and in this class she will be teaching about food safety, water bath canning and pressure canning and when you would use either method. Canning can be dangerous so come learn how to preserve your harvest safely!
July 16, Thursday, 7-9:30pm
Greenwood Senior Center; 525 N 85th St

CoolMom is an environmental moms group.  Our mission is mitigating climate change, and we meet monthly to educate ourselves, encourage each other to adopt greener lifestyles, and to become advocates for climate issues. We also have an online dialogue and occasional projects. We have been focused on local food for the last 3 months, and we are concluding with a canning class.
