Thanks to Fred for this tip:

A special Green Lake tradition is next Thursday, Aug. 6th, 6:30-9:30 pm. The “From Hiroshima to Hope” lantern floating ceremony is free and very beautiful, as a thousand wooden lanterns float serenely on the lake. The event starts with music, poetry and paper crane folding. Many people bring a picnic supper. Everyone floats their lanterns (provided free) a little after 9pm.

On the northwest shore, just south of the Bathhouse.

6:30pm – latern preparation, meditation space, music
8:00pm – music, speakers
9:00pm – latern floating ceremony
