One armed man and two other men kicked in the door of an apartment in North Seattle early today, terrorizing two residents there before fleeing with computers and a gun, Seattle police said.

Police got the call about the home invasion-robbery in the 5400 block of Meridian Avenue North about 1:10 a.m., Seattle police spokeswoman Det. Reneé Witt said.

“The two victims were in their apartment when three unknown male suspects kicked the door in,” Witt said.

One of the victims grabbed a gun to confront the suspects, one of whom also had a gun, Witt said.

“A standoff ensued and the victim fearing for his life dropped his firearm and complied with the suspects,” she said.

A second victim, who the suspects had on the floor, “was kicked in the face by one of the suspects during the incident,” Witt added.

The three robbers moved quickly, taking two laptop computers and the victim’s handgun before fleeing out of the back of the apartment, Witt said. They were last seen heading east on 55th Avenue North.

Seattle police K-9 units conducted a search of the area, Witt said, but couldn’t find the robbers this morning.
