The Relay for Life was a big success. Assuming all the money is tallied and reported on the website, 454 participants raised $90,293.80, crushing their goal of $60,000! We swung by to check out the the scene this morning and it looked like everyone had had a fun time, and not only due to the Destination Cure Marga-Relay-Ville tent. Unfortunately the bounce house was not inflated as promised so we were not inticed to stick around long enough for the closing ceremony.
Bummed you missed the event and don’t want to wait a whole year for the next Cancer-related walking fundraiser? The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk takes place at Green Lake Park September 26th. It sounds like a great event and to think we only grabbed the flyer because it had Tina Fey on the cover.
Light The Night Walk events are evenings filled with inspiration. Carrying illuminated balloons – white for survivors, red for supporters and gold in memory of loved ones lost to cancer – thousands of walkers – men, women and children – form a community of caring, bringing light to the dark world of cancer.
