Several Green Lake residents are reporting delays in their commutes this morning. Apparently a garage truck brought down a tree and a power pole between 83rd and 84th, affecting traffic in both directions between where Green Lake Ave N hits Aurora and 85th. From the Seattle Times:
Authorities closed Aurora Avenue North between North 83rd and North 85th Street shortly after 5 a.m., diverting rush-hour traffic while Seattle City Light crews worked to repair the broken pole, Seattle police spokesman Jeff Kappel said.
As of 7 a.m., the street remain closed, and would remain so until the crew was able to fix the problem, police said.
City Light spokesman Peter Clark said replacing the pole would take until at least 3 p.m. this afternoon to complete.
