So you read about rediscovering your local library in The Daily Green (no relation) this morning, but you still need more of a reason to go? How about a community research project this Saturday from 1 to 3pm: Learn how to research and interpret historical evidence connected with the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition with the objective of increasing awareness of, and appreciation for, Seattle’s first World’s Fair. Topics may range from how the fair affected Seattle’s early urbanization and transportation systems to how it influenced the women’s suffrage movement. Participation is free and open to all but registration is requested. Register here or get more…

Up the Gaels!
Head to the northeast fields of Green Lake Park at 11am this Saturday to check out the Gaelic Games. Behold the two most popular spectator sports in Ireland: Gaelic football and hurling. There will be three games of each as well as clinics for new players and kids. See the flyer for slightly more information. According to Wikipedia (so don’t quote us on this), Gaelic football is commonly referred to as “Gah” and the wooden hurling stick is called a hurley. Now you can sound cool and avoid being accused of having a sliotar for a brain. Go Gaels!
