Tweeted about 4 hours ago (6 p.m.-ish this evening) by scottthepainter: Love that I saw Dave Matthews on a red bike with a basket while running around greenlake. Matthews was also recently seen at (what sounds to be) the Green Lake playground by Dana Treat, local mom, personal chef and Dave Matthews fan: Now, Dave Matthews lives in our neighborhood. My husband has seen him recently at our local vegan doughnut shop (don’t knock it ’til you’ve tried it) and at this same park. I have seen him around and also met him on various occasions back when I worked…

More Guerilla Knitting Found
We found two more guerilla knit cozies this evening! The tree cozy is just south of Ashworth and the pedestrian crossing sign cozy is at Kenwood. So between these and the street sign cozy at 64th, you can take a mini art walk on the southeast side of the lake.
5-Star Green Home in Green Lake
Last month’s Built Green featured project was a house in Green Lake. It’s full of fancy green features including a vegetated roof system, cistern for rainwater collection, and cork and bamboo flooring. The home tour was last Sunday, but don’t despair if you missed it–the house is for sale so there may be open houses in the future. Like our previously-reported award-winning Green Lake house (which may be in Wallingford), this one is probably outside the neighborhood, too, most likely in Phinney Ridge. Don’t worry, we’re working on a post–or entire spin-off blog–to address the amorphous boundaries of Green Lake….
Play Area is Caution Tape-free
If you’ve got little kids or just hate caution tape, you’ll be happy to know the caution tape that’s plagued the play structures is finally gone. The new squishy ramps look done, but hopefully the city is planning to fill in the surrounding wood chips because there are some hazardous drop offs. Or maybe the project isn’t finished and an enterprising parent just tore the tape down since no one was obeying it anyway.
