Traffic Alert: Aurora Avenue

Several Green Lake residents are reporting delays in their commutes this morning. Apparently a garage truck brought down a tree and a power pole between 83rd and 84th, affecting traffic in both directions between where Green Lake Ave N hits Aurora and 85th. From the Seattle Times: Authorities closed Aurora Avenue North between North 83rd and North 85th Street shortly after 5 a.m., diverting rush-hour traffic while Seattle City Light crews worked to repair the broken pole, Seattle police spokesman Jeff Kappel said. Happening Now – Police Activity

As of 9:25 p.m., two police cars are stopped in front of the Green Lake Library.  Neighbors say they witnessed a man and a woman in a physical altercation on the corner of Latona and Green Lake Way.  Loud shouting was heard and the pair were seen pushing each other. Go Skateboarding Day

Happy Go Skateboarding Day! We can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by heading to Woodland Park’s skatepark, commonly referred to as “Greenlake Skatepark.” Check out this review from Northwest Longboarding and we’re sure you’ll agree: A big park with two bowls and a street section that includes a small mini ramp with a spine and bowled ends.
